We had a long weekend a few weeks ago and I was lucky enough to be able to go to Sander's first communion. The day started off with a church service with about 15 kids. Sander was one of them.
At the end of the service, all of the kids got balloons and got to let them go outside the church. Lucky for us, the weather was fantastic, so everything went perfectly.
When we got back home, there were a ton of people waiting for us and we pretty much ate as much as we possibly could until we were stuffed. There was so much delicious food and I'll definitely bring some recipes home with me!

The whole family was there and since I haven't gotten a picture with my WHOLE family yet, we decided it would be the perfect opportunity! Aside from eating as much as we could, we played on the trampoline, took tons of pictures and played card games. Oh yeah, and dessert.. more eating(:
I'm not sure if everyone's heard about what exchange students say about AFS.. normally, it stands for 'American Field Service' .. but we students have a different meaning: 'Another Fat Student'.
I'm not huge, and it's not that I'm lazy or something :P It's just different food than I'm used to. And trust me, it's delicious!

If you decide to go to the beach again in the next few weeks , you can have lobster at a reasonable price in Blankenberge here :

Maybe your host family will take you to the coast before going home .. if they do , ask to go there. If not , drag a few friends , and make it a fun day at the beach + lobster ! There is a train going from Brussels to Blankenberge every hour.
Good luck !
