We had two weeks of spring break at the beginning of April. I decided that it would be fun to do a little traveling. In the course of this vacation I did so much, but it all started in Berlin.

On Friday night, I flew by myself to visit my cousins that live in Germany. I was super excited to see them again. (It had been a while). The flight was good but it was still my first flight completely alone. Exciting! When we finally met at the airport, it was so nice. We realized that we all had red jackets which is kind of funny. Eventually we made it to our hotel. It was too late to do anything so we just went to bed. I was exhausted.

On Saturday, we went to see Checkpoint Charlie and a display about the Nazi reign. It was pretty interesting and I really enjoyed reading and learning more about the area. After that, we walked around the city a little more and eventually got to The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe which also included a really moving museum. It was so interesting and also extremely sad. There were letters read and stories told about Jews who disappeared or were murdered during the Holocaust. There were tons of pictures. Really awful ones actually. It really makes people think and I'm glad we visited there.
After that, we went and visited a few more things including The Brandenburg Gate, Places where the Berlin Wall used to be, Reichstag building and even the hotel where Michael Jackson held the baby out the window!

The weather was pretty stupid. At the beginning of the day, it was sunny and bright. Soon after, it turned awful. Oddly enough, it hailed. I lot!

We ran into the subway and headed to a different part of Berlin. There, we found a store that sold all sorts of foods from around the world. They had the United States down perfect. Pop-corn, marshmallows, frosting, chocolate sauce, maple syrup, cake, cookies, PEANUT BUTTER and JELLY<3 Not to mention a huge honkin' jug of BBQ Sauce.
Later, we met up with a friend of my cousins and had dinner in a really nice Indian restaurant and went out for drinks.

The next day, we went to a castle(which was pretty much a giant museum). It was huge and really beautiful so I'm just gonna put some pictures up.
The next day, we went to a really beautiful church.
It was really huge. We climbed to the top and had a really great view of the city.

I had a really great time with my cousins in Berlin, but on Tuesday morning, I had to leave to go to Hamburg and visit my other cousins! I was only there for one night, but it was still great to talk with my family and see the little kids again after a while.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip. I'm really happy I had the opportunity to see my family while I was over here in Belgium!
